federalist 10- madison

In the Federalist papers #10, Madisons talks of how factions can be a countries greatest threat, and this statement is all too true when looking at the pre civil war U.S. The U.S. was split along political, social and economic lines, and was heavily divided between the north and south. And it was these factions that led directly to the civil war. This statement i believe to be true, however, when Madison talks about the constitution as being an end all be all of division, i dont think he was right. The separation was too deep, and the division was too strong for a constitution to be able to mend our country. And the civil war proved this, disproving Madison's statement.
